As Kirby's first home console game, it's good to see Kirby's Adventure added to the review list. Kind of amazing that Kirby has hung around this long. In terms of character, gameplay, and concept, Kirby feels like a third or fourth tier property in Nintendo's lineup. The kind of character that would have died after 3 games in the 90s for most companies. But according to Wikipedia, there's 26 games where Kirby is the main character. I must be missing something, but the games have never seemed appealing to me. I have to confess - maybe it's from Smash Bros. - but there is just something about Kirby that really annoys me. Sorry Kirby!

You don't have to love KA but I gotta wonder how the control scheme is overloaded. It's basically like an NES Megaman except instead of selecting weapons from a pause menu you change them on the fly by eating enemies.

Funny, I thought it was the Jackie Chan grade that was going to disappoint readers!

Kirby was Nintendo's attorney:

I forgot I also loved the Backdrop and Throw abilities as well. When using the Throw move, I'd say to my foe, "Watch out for the moon!"

At least this game had a still great commercial:
