Check out my re-review of Berzerk, 20 years later. It's more of an elaboration, but I bumped the grade from B+ to A-.
Thoughts??

A good review of a very fun 5200 game.

If you don't know, there is a bug which allows you to control Evil Otto a little. Get as close to a left side exit without going through it. Otto will reverse direction. Then move a step to the right and he'll return to following you. You can play with this to kill extra robots sometimes.

Nice to see this re-review! I'm surprised you didn't take the opportunity to compare it to K-Razy Shootout, a Berzerk clone which is one of the only 5200 games you haven't reviewed yet.

If you don't have that in the queue and it's on your multicart, that'd be the perfect follow-up. (Maybe I'm stealing your thunder and you've already got that in mind?)

Never heard of K-Razy Shootout, but if it's on my multicart the review will be forthcoming.
Thanks for the tip!

I love the 2600 version.

You're welcome! If you have the old multicart with DIP switches and a printed listing of the games, it should be on there under the name "K-RAZY".

Two of the other games you haven't reviewed, Star Trek and Montezuma's Revenge, are on there too; the only one that's not is Bounty Bob Strikes Back, which we discussed a while back.

Any chance to test out the ability to have a laser shoot straight though that small opening between your head and your body? I can't remember if it was the arcade version or the 2600 version (or both), but I was amazed to see a shot go straight between my head an torso once, and at some point was even able to use that ability to avoid a kill shot.

I played the 5200 version several years back. It was very good and more advanced, but I just didn't enjoy it as much as the 2600 version. Something about that game. One of the best Atari transitions of arcade games. Back in the '80s I bet I played that game more than any other, I wore the damn thing out.
