Definitely happens in the Atari 2600 version! Don't know about other versions (including the arcade). It'd be kind of cool if it happens in K-Razy Shootout.

Now I'm trying to remember if the "no-hit neck shot" happens in some of the Berzerk clones I've played on 8-bit computers...
