2020/12/15: Sega CD: Double Switch, Adventures of Batman and Robin, The

Postby VideoGameCritic » December 15th, 2020, 3:43 pm

I re-reviewed two old Sega CD games. Why? Because I've been playing them lately.
These new reviews are a bit more critical, with Batman and Robin going from D to D-, and Double Switch from C- to D.
Two more Double Switch reviews are coming up.
Thoughts?

Good review on the Adventures of Batman and Robin, yeah, they should have added some side-scrolling action as opposed to all driving, the only redeeming factor was the cinematics, in fact thanks to Youtube, I was able to find a video where all that is compressed into one:

My brief review of AoB&R ... much more driving, much less fun. D- is really harsh given the animated clips and the Sega CD scaling tech but Id never defend this game. At least there is a level skip cheat.

Double Switch is trash; agree 100%.

Now if only they'd port Voyeur from CDi to modern consoles; now there is a FMV game worth playing!

I'd be happy to play a vehicle only Batman themed super-scaler, if it were actually good. If I want more on-foot action, there's enough Batman games to make some console libraries look small by comparison.

But this game...was it even play tested by anyone other than the lead designer? It's just a few pixels away from being a traffic jam simulator.
