So Super Double Dragon released for the SNES is double dragon 4 or IV. Then tradewest released Double Dragon 5 which was a street fighter clone. Now Arc released in 2017 Double dragon 4 but it is not related to super double dragon. Surely it should be VI as in 6?
Thanks for the review, it looks abysmal. I have the first 3 on PC DD trilogy and they are great. I never played Super DD and could not see the point of DD5. I was thinking of getting DD4 on PC but the reviews for it were not kind. There is also a double dragon neon whatever that is on PC. Just now I can get DD4 on PC for £1.10 but I still do not fancy it.

Your review seems to suggest it is not that great. I already got sucked into getting heavy burger so I will give this one a miss.

Another really solid review, and some good laughs. Liking this new format. Somehow I didn't even know this game existed. Man, as a kid Double Dragon II was the talk of second grade.. if you had DDII, it was like you owned some Holy Grail. But I don't have enough love for it to grab DD4, especially after this review.

Will pick this up if LRG ever does a switch release.

They put it out for PS4 but i missed it and now it's scalper only on ebay.

Seems like the Double Dragon franchise can't ever catch a break without wasting it. Look at Neon being immediately followed by Wander of the Dragons, which may be the worst beat-em up ever made.

Meanwhile, the best version of the original game is on the Zeebo. And it has to be already loaded on the system.

There's never been any effort to make it available to the general public.

So DD4 being a nostalgic throwback to the NES era, that uses modern horsepower to make everything worse? It's totally on brand for a series that forgot how to code smooth scrolling in the same arcade sequel that invented microtransactions.

I wanted to buy DD4 the next time it went on sale. Thanks for saving me the money.

You still should. This game is enjoyable enough. I especially like the bonus lift stages. Nothing particular great, but decent enough. C+ for me.
