2021/5/14: Super Nintendo: Joe & Mac, Joe & Mac 2

Joe & Mac is a re-review (B+ to B-) and Joe & Mac 2 is brand new.

It was hard to review these games at the same time because I kept getting them confused!

Still, good summer fun here. Comments?

Good Reviews! Joe & Mac 2 is a fun time for me, and one that I boot up on the Evercade every so often for nostalgia...

Gotta say I miss the Caveman genre as a whole. Most were extremely light hearted and silly, but fun. It never became an over crowded genre, but it was filled with memorable titles.

You would never see a company roll out a game like Joe and Mac today. If they did it would be gritty, realistic, epic, story driven, and filled with dinosaurs that had feathers. It would basically be Horizon Zero Dawn. Yawn….

Someone needs to get Bonk’s DNA out of amber and bring him back!

There was a WiiWare/XB360 live Bonk game in development years back, though it was canned for reasons that elude me now.

Both Bonk n Joe&Mac have cartoon humor in their mix as well (as does Chuck Rock, come to think of it), and would work if handled correctly

I just checked and it looks like Bonk is part of Konami after Hudson Soft shuttered it’s doors. Fat chance of his glorious, big-ass head gracing consoles any time soon. Konami might as well change their slogan from “Born from Fun” to “Death of Fun”.

If not for the Turbo Mini, I would agree. They occasionally remember they have properties that generate return of money...

I was thinking the same thing. Last year's mini was my favorite home console gaming purchase of the year.

I played the heck out of Joe & Mac on the SNES back in the day. It was a lot of fun. It's average in every way but still fun. I'll have to check out Joe & Mac 2. Thanks for the review!

Missing out on that Turbo Mini is like a dagger in my heart. The thing sells for stupid prices right now!

Fun fact: in Japan Joe & Mac 2 is actually Joe & Mac 3, the third game in a trilogy with Congo's Caper being the second game.
