Valid point, Retro. As much as I adore Spike, it does have a level of randomness not present in Kings. I've always thought that Spike has some true "broken controller" moments where your players flat-out refuse to jump to block a spike, or dive in the wrong direction when going for a save. Forgivable at the beginning, but incredibly frustrating during the later stages!
Multiplayer takes the edge off this a bit, as at least all human players have to deal with the same faults. But I've definitely come to the conclusion that Spike seems to have a mind of its own, sometimes.
Kings does seem to be the tighter game overall, but I just don't find it as much fun to play in either single or multi. But I still like it. If a friend came over and wanted to throw down on Kings, I'd do it in a heartbeat - followed by a session of Spike, afterwards
