2021/12/11: Super Nintendo: Super Smash TV, Iron Commando

Let me know what you think about my latest SNES reviews. Super Smash TV is a re-review, mainly because I'm about to post a review of the Genesis version.

Iron Commando is new, and you can probably tell I was disappointed with it.

I played the crap out of Super Smash TV when I was a kid. It's a great game. I recently played through the arcade version and have new appreciation for the SNES version.

Not that this should be a surprise to anyone but Smash TV was done by Eugene Jarvis. He always has brilliant design philosophy.

Super Smash TV on the SNES is one of my favorite games. I absolutely loved that game as a kid. It really does shine as a two player experience though. I really wish my wife was open to console games, so I could play this co-op. I don't think I ever made it past level 4 when I was young. Now I can make it to level 3 on my own sometimes, but not to the end before I run out of continues. I also love the voices. I still quote this one many decades later. "Big Money! Big Prizes! I love it!"

Such a great co-op game.

Tried Iron Commando on the Evercade last night, and yikes, you REALLY need the controls explained (jump and "A" to drop Grenades???) (and like a dunce, I did not read the manual before hand...). Not the worst beat-em-up I've played, but nothing to write home about. Your review summed it up very well.

Super Smash TV is a classic, glad to hear the SNES has a solid verison. :)
