One thing about this game...if you find a cart to play on your N64, you need to use a controller from the original era. If you try to use something new (N64 Brawler, for example), the game may not work. I ran into this issue and found an obscure article on the range of motion for original era controllers and the fact that this game is one of a handful of N64 titles that can't "read" modern controllers very well. Interestingly, third party N64 controllers from the period work fine, too. Just wanted to mention this!

Tell me more about this game.

Body Harvest is an open world game developed by DMA design. It was originally going to be an RPG that would serve as an N64 launch title, but the publishing deal with Nintendo fell through and it ended up becoming more of an action game.

You play as a guy named Adam Drake. Aliens have been "harvesting" the human population for the last hundred years in various parts of the world and you have to go back in time and fight off the waves of invasions that have been happening. In each area, you're in a new time, and get new weapons, and get to control new vehicles. There's a lot of world exploration, both indoor and outdoor, and there is some light puzzle solving (though I've never outright gotten stuck in any of my bi-yearly playthroughs). The number of vehicles is astounding and the music provides a seriously drab and intimidating atmosphere.

You should really give it a go.

Made by the guys that will go on to make Grand Theft Auto. I've never played it but in theory you can start to see some of their ideas start from this game.

The repeated mentions of the Buck Bumble theme inspired me to listen on Youtube. It did not disappoint. For anyone else interested:

Same with the Body Harvest mentions. That one is on my shelf, but I would never think to play it if Robotrek hadn’t just mentioned it. Now it’s on the list, thanks.

Buck Bumble is now rare and expensive? What has the world come to...? It's like every Nintendo cartridge ever made is heading for "rareness" someday.

Never played this despite being a huge N64 fan. I need to load it up on the ole' everdrive sometime soon and check it out. Interesting it's a shooter, i always assumed it was a 3D platformer. lol

I removed the expensive icon as you all suggested. Turns out all N64 games are expensive now!

I guess I should now go on an apology tour to atone for the millions of people who I have irrevocably harmed by my careless actions.

Not really.

This game looks like something that could have been pulled off on the Atari Jaguar - especially with that early 90's 3D fog hiding what I assume is absolutely atrocious draw-in distance.

There’s a guy on YouTube besting every 64 game. He’s done 80ish so far……next up, Body Harvest.

LOL. You're right. This is exactly the kind of oddball game you'd expect to find on the Jaguar!
