Check out my latest Turbografx reviews and let me know what you think.

Sonic Spike is a game I've reviewed several times. Bumping up from F to C-.

Aldynes is new. Good but not great.

Aldynes is one of those games I keep trying to enjoy, and then immediately forgetting why I don't.

Can you imagine paying $900 (inflation adjusted price) for the Supergrafx, and then waiting 4 months for a single game to appear that wasn't Battle Ace? And then waiting another 3 months for Ghouls N' Ghosts to finally validate your purchase?

And then still waiting an entire 6 months after that just for Aldynes to finally limp into stores? Which costs twice as much as any Sega Genesis/SNES game? Eventually, 1941 shows up to reward everyone for their patience, and then that's it. All that's left is to admire the lack of sprite flicker in PC Engine Darius, though it doesn't change the actual game itself.

Between all this nonsense and the 64DD, it's given me a little more respect for the 32x.

Edit: Also, it's always good to see a sports game reviewed. They're my least played genre, and the most difficult to find good coverage of. Especially any head to head comparisons, except for 2k and EA.

I didn't even know a Supergrafx even existed. Thanks for the update. Man it must have only made minuscule sales.

Going to assume here you played Aldynes on the Turbo Mini versus actual hardware, is that correct? If so does that open you up to reviewing games via emulation or only on officially licensed products, such as, the SNES Mini, etc. You could always review Star Fox 2 for example.

Emulation has come a long way and short of some transparency issues on the Atomiswave hardware in Dolphin Blue, it's really good for older consoles and arcades. Speaking of which have you ever considered reviewing older arcade games?

Great reviews as always.

Yeah over the past five years ago I've really warmed up to reviewing emulated games, although I do try to make mention in the review if I'm not playing on the original hardware.

Playing games via emulation is a lot more practical, and I think it will extend the lives of classic games - particularly some of the more rare titles.

I probably will not branch out into arcade titles, even though I have an Xbox modded for MAME. It's just too much to take on. I think I've spread myself too thin as it is.

No mention of the music for Aldynes in the review? Not a great shooter but the soundtrack is nice :D
