Updated Halloween Special 2022

Well I just finished a major revamp of my Halloween special (6 pages plus portable bonus page).

I noticed the formatting was really bad on my cell phone so I changed the look. I also added a bunch of new games (reviewed since last year) including Outlast (PS4), Amnesia (PS4), Ghostbusters II (NES), New Ghostbusters II (NES), House of Dead Remake (Switch), and Warlock (Genesis,SNES).

I'm not advertising this yet on social media because it's still early and I might need to make further refinements.

For one thing, I'm thinking about cutting out some of the fat. The pages have become pretty bloated with games only vaguely associated with Halloween. Stuff like Ghostbusters and Castlevania games. Do they really belong?

I'd like to hear your thoughts.

I had a look at it. The new formatting makes reading better. I must say as soon as I looked at it, I was drawn to the 2600 chapter. So many great games.. plus Grandpa from the Munsters. A good time to look at the Rob Zombie remake?

Go with Spectacular! Halloween and Christmas are probably your two most popular specials, right? Plus tons of games on the list. So spectacular sounds fitting to me.

Tober's Nightmare: The Pumpking Smashing Game!

ZeroPage Homebrew has played it a few times, such as in this After Dark episode.

Grab a pumpkin to throw at the monsters. There's a nice variety of them thru the levels: Zombies, Spooky Trees, Ghosts, Witches, etc.

After you've used up all your pumpkins head to the house so the Phantom Gardener will show up and grow some more pumpkins for you

I think Ghostbusters (despite it’s suckyness) and Castlevania definitely belong. Don’t worry about it getting too “fat”, it’s just more to love!
As for today’s reviews I notice that Jersey Devil made BOTH fall and Halloween lists though I suppose all Halloween games are fall games by default but all fall games are not necessarily Halloween games. Something to ponder…
I always like the “X-Files” episode that had the Jersey Devil and the Sopranos when Paulie and Chris were stuck overnight in the Pine Barrens where the devil supposedly roams. I’ve never been there but people say it’s amazing such a big lonely desolate expanse could exist today in NJ. Definitely on the bucket list!
