Here is another gem from the RPG expert himself, Jonathan Hawk.

Great review. Can your friend do a few more reviews, including games like Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete?

Nice review RPG Critic.

In general, I feel the same about all Mario RPGs : Great battles/empty-filler type platforming. This game has that, but a really entertaining story as well, way better than the DS MArio RPG, which was sickening, and almost ruins the game.

Also, I wish The Wii half version of this series would have stuck to more traditional RPG style, because the platforming in that game sucks hard, and the RPG battles are GONE!

Oh, and I liked the time completed/favorite charachter portion of the review, nice touch!

Bottom line, great GC game

I haven't actually played Paper Mario myself, but I've watched my brother beat 90% of it twice now. It seemed really charming and funny. I also liked how you had to do borderline Wario Ware esque button combos and minigames in order to do damage in battle.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is one of my favorite games of all time, and I agree with its review. When I first got it, I played through it from beginning to end, twice in a row. While there are some minor complaints I have, like the somewhat-excessive backtracking at certain points of the game, it's really a very fun (and funny) game that's worth checking out.

The version for GameCube in my native language (Italian) that I played back in the day mentioned it too. I don't see what the big fuss is about.

Furthermore, would there be any chance for a review of the original Paper Mario? Maybe one of the RPG reviewers could have a crack at it :)

This is a fantastic forum, which is why we need to keep political talk out of here. Let's stick to gaming.

I myself played Paper Mario on GBA, but didn't really care for it. But it looks like this may be enjoyable.
