Most of my memories of Tomba! were from playing it when it was released. But it's been on my mind a lot lately, so I finally dropped the $50 on eBay yesterday and added it to my collection. This is one of the few older games I actually intend to start playing immediately when I receive it (...most just get thrown in a box and played months later, and sometimes never). So perhaps sometime down the road I'll post a review of the game, to see if it's held up well 10+ years later. If I were betting, I'd say it'll be fine though-- the graphics have a cartoony style and the platforming is "2.5D", and those tend to hold up better over the years.

I just noticed something odd about the Croc review: it uses a screenshot that seems to be from a beta version of the game! The number of rescued Gobbos is displayed as "0/6" (i.e. 0 rescued out of 6) instead of a single number as in the released game.
There's also a demo version from a compilation disc that used the same display format -- but it didn't include the level shown in the screenshot, so that's gotta be the beta.
