Well, this is disappointing.  It amazes me when companies put out sequels that are less fun than the originals.  You'd think they'd go back and play those old games once in a while.

I think that Virtua Tennis has been treading water since 3 came out.  These games still are pretty good, but compared to the two on the Dreamcast, they haven't been able to step it up much more outside of the graphics.

Also, how and why is 4 more of a simulation style game this time than the other Virtua Tennis games? Is it because of the four shot buttons?  Because outside of that, it seems pretty much like the others, gameplay-wise, with the same mostly pick up and play feel.

Yes, I am a bit confused.  In the review of Virtua Tennis 4, you state that all the sequels, especially this one I assume, are comparatively boring, but going up a bit to the review of VT 2009 you call the action "Fast and Exciting".  Where is the disconnect?

I enjoyed Virtua Tennis 3 on the 360. I thought it played almost as great as the first game on the Dreamcast. But I have a feeling VT 4 would be better on PS Move. Kinect just isn't living up the hype and what Microsoft originally promised at all. So far, it's been good for nothing but dance games. Sure, Child of Eden has its moments, but I still think the PS3 version with Move and 3D capabilities will eventually become the definitive version.

Maybe we should donate a dreamcast or PS2 (Sega Sports Tennis is a port of Tennis 2K2) to them so they could play the originals again.

Would I be wrong in saying Tennis 2K2 on the DC (port of Virtua Tennis 2) is probably still the best in the series?

To me, this edition felt a little slower, as if they were trying to make it a bit more realistic and less arcade-like.  The shots lack punch.
