"cheap trick to lengthen the game"??? HAHAHAAAHAHA! Where do you think Capcom got this idea??? Let me see...just about every Mario and Kirby game I have played (and other games too) has the "search around for the coins and you'll never realize that these games are about 2 hours long" trick.

Sometimes critic you are just a tad too misleading for my book....I just don't get it. At least other sites are generally consistent and you can read between the lines but on this site it's impossible. Maybe that's the beauty of it...good luck with your book and your continued reviews.

Why is your counter arguement to everything always "Nintendo sucks?"  It's starting to reek a little of obsession.

Also, your whole last paragraph is the silliest thing I've ever had the displeasure of reading.  It really seems to me like perhaps you've been lying about your age and you are, in fact, 8 years old.
Impossible to read between the lines... what does that even mean?  He gave the review in simple english and stated his opinion; perhaps a good practice for you would be to read the lines themselves.
4. So the game magically becomes fun when you play through as a boss huh?
Well, considering you get an infinite ammount of the Robot Master's power.. yes. Playing as Elec Man is probably better than playing as Mega Man.
5. The other robots were siblings!?  Please refer back to the part of my review where I mention "throwing up".  If you sat through the cut-scenes to learn that piece of info, you have too much time on your hands my friend.
..Actually I just know a lot about the Mega Man series.

So you're saying that Mega Man killed his siblings in the previous games? Besides, since when did killing siblings in games in movies become politically incorrect? Remember the Lion King? Rated G.

I figured Boston would act that way when I first read that review. I personally agree with the score that it received.

Mega man has sucked for the past 10 years or so why is powered up getting a D a suprise?  The last good mega man game was 8, and the only one I would call great was the first X.  The over reaction here is palpable.

I figured Boston would react that way when I saw that the critic was going to be doing PSP reviews.
Funny that Boston's that negative.  I mean, 50% of the PSP reviews are A ratings.   That's pretty good for a system the critic said wasn't appealing to him since before its release.

Well never give your screen name out to your drunk buddies after you have said "check out this site". That post came from my computer but it wasn't me. I had a bunch of friends over to watch the Stanley Cup and the Mets game last night and they asked me "what do you think of this guys reviews?". What I said was that he does a good job, I like his site and he has only mislead me a few times. I also mentioned that I would buy his book etc, etc. Believe what you want but I am a victim of idiotic friends. I should of wondered why they were snickering every time I walked by the old home office. Idiots!

This is what I really think:

My general impression of the Megaman game is that I thought it was C material and I actually believe that the critic is harping on a lot of things that didn't bother the gaming experience to me and are a bit too nit picky for my taste. That said he's entitled to his opinion. It's his site.

"5. The other robots were siblings!?  Please refer back to the part of my review where I mention "throwing up".  If you sat through the cut-scenes to learn that piece of info, you have too much time on your hands my friend."

It's not in THIS game. They are considered his siblings since the first SIX robot masters were made by Light+Wily. Sort of like Protoman and Roll. After the first game, the first six robot masters are considered Megaman's allies, in terms of the story canon. After Megaman 1, the other robot masters are his enemies--since they were made by Wily. Oh, except for Megaman 4, since those robots were made by Dr. Cossack. They also become Megaman's allies. (Except in the Ariga comic, where Skullman stayed pretty much a murderous badass.)

"6. Yes, I decided to neglect the the Level Editor, Challenge Mode and the Downloadable Levels.  And I will continue to do so!"

Let me not neglect them for you.

Challenge mode is a pretty nice addition. It is basically ten challenges that start of simple, and then get incredibly hard. You get another ten challenges for every robot master you unlock. If you complete challenge mode, you get a pretty awesome secret character! (Let me give you a hint: Whistle.)

The Level editor is pretty deep, and just as you would expect it to be. The parts you start off with are pretty meager, but as you find secret areas in the game (Usually by playing as Robot masters) you unlock more and more parts. The best part about the level editor, is the online trading. Run out of levels? Download the thousands online. Or, if you want to get other level creation packs, you can get some of those online--too. (Usually classic packs--Like classic enemies and blocks from the original Iceman or Elecman levels)

Not to mention, once you connect online, you can also download ANOTHER secret character, with downloadable costumes. (Hint: Think Zero, except without armor, and a broom instead of a sword. Same hair, though.)

I can see why the critic might start bashing this, because...Well...The jumping is slightly different from the originals. It takes about...Oh...Twenty minutes to get used to. After that, it's all groovy, and controls just as well as any other Megaman. It also has no more slowdown than the original Megaman games, and it never screwed up my jumps in those games, either. Huh.

Also, to the other users bashing Megaman...Uhm...No. There have been many good Megaman games, and the X series sucks. The original is where it's at.

The MM1 bosses being Mega Man's siblings has been an established fact since the birth of the franchise, and is mentioned in pretty much every single game these character appear in (yeah, usually just in the manual, but still...). If Mario and Luigi are allowed to be brothers without the Critic throwing up, why can't Mega Man have a family?

While I haven't played this game a lot, I really liked what I DID play. Having played the original to death, a remake allowing me to play through the game with a whole plethora of new characters, all who play very differently, was heaven to me. And on top of THAT, Capcom gave me a huge amount of fun challenges to complete. I find this the best PSP game yet by far.

(Oh, and the Mega Man X games didn't suck, only MMX5 and up. MMX2 was somewhat mediocre, but it wasn't a BAD game. MMX, MMX3 and MMX4 were all awesome.)
