I'm always up for hockey.  Sorry these two aren't very good.

Total agree with both reviews. I can't believe I actually deluded myself into paying $20 to get NHL Breakaway '98. All I can remember was the very uneven frame rate and how hard getting a basic shot off was. Bottom line: stick with NHL '94 for some old school hockey!

Well... NHL 99 on the 64 was pretty good, I thought.

Any good hockey games on the N64? Guess not. Though unlike the critic I love Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey (1996 original)!

As a huge of the original Blades of Steel, it's too bad to hear about Blades of Steel '99.

There aren't many hockey games on the N64 to begin with:
Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey
NHL '99 (ok, but worse then the PC and Playstation versions)
NHL Breakaway 98
NHL Breakaway 99
NHL Blades of Steel 99
That's it

I guess Wayne Gretzky can be a fun arcade game, but i prefer NHL Rock the Rink on the Playstation or the 2 on 2 Open Ice Arcade game over that.

When it comes to sports games the N64 was really horrible. I think except for ISS 64, ISS 98 and NBA Courtside 2, those were good games.
(of course if you count wrestling as sport, you have a few awesome WCW and WWF games as well)
