The Hall debuted in 2015 with Pac-Man among the inaugural class. How the &*@%! (to quote Q*bert) did it take this long for Pac's better half (literally in terms of popularity) to gain admission?!

Q*bert's probably wondering who he'll have to sleep with to get in.

I didn't even know that there is a video game hall of fame. Ms. Pac-Man is certainly deserving of the honor.

The museum that houses it - the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, NY - is worth a visit, and a perfect side detour if ever visiting Niagara Falls. Highly recommend.
I finally made the trip last summer. Their video game collection and displays there are considered tops in the US and probably within Top 5 in the world. I think I was a little disappointed with it, if only because I thought the National Video Game Museum outside Dallas was even better. But the video game section is a very small portion of the Strong Museum - it’s a great children’s museum to play for anyone with kids, and it has a impressive toy collection for history/nostalgia types.

Hahahah good one. So I’m going to play the guessing game here. Since Ms. PAC-man was not in the hall I’m going to guess that there must be less then 10 already in so here’s who I’m guessing.
1. Tron
2. PAC-Man
3. Mario
4. Sonic
5. Link
6. Donkey Kong
7. Luigi
8. Frogger
9. Halo guy
10. Ryu
Haha I’m probably way off

^ haha, I do like that you’d put Tron at #1...
The World VG Hall of Fame at the Strong Museum is for games rather than characters. So it’s Ms. Pac-man the game being inducted rather than the character.

Shouldn’t Tron be #1. I mean who else would be? So games not characters eh? I guess I was even more off than I thought I would be.

The website is an awful mess of modern web design, so I'll post a list of the current inductees that you can actually read.
2015:
Pong
Pac-Man
Super Mario Bros.
Tetris
Doom
World of Warcraft
2016:
Space Invaders
The Oregon Trail
The Legend of Zelda
Sonic the Hedgehog
The Sims
Grand Theft Auto III
2017:
Donkey Kong
Street Fighter II
Pocket Monsters: Red and Green (the Japanese releases of Pokémon: Red Version and Blue Version; it actually calls them Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, but those titles were never used in any market)
Halo: Combat Evolved
2018:
Spacewar!
John Madden Football
Tomb Raider
Final Fantasy VII
2019:
Colossal Cave Adventure
Microsoft Solitaire
Mortal Kombat
Super Mario Kart
2020:
Centipede
King's Quest
Bejeweled
Minecraft
2021:
Microsoft Flight Simulator
Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?
StarCraft
Animal Crossing
2022:
Ms. Pac-Man
Sid Meier's Civilization
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Dance Dance Revolution
Bear in mind that this is all picked by one toy museum in upstate New York and carries about as much weight as the average listicle. Not that something like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame means anything itself, but at least it has recognition, and people show up in person to get inducted. I don't think anyone here besides the OP and Retro STrife even knew about this.

You are right, horrible website. This is what they do. Make vile things no one needs and then say it is progress.
