I've modified my site (WrestleCrap.com) a few times over the years...I've had one time where people were happy I changed. And that was due to the fact that it was mobile friendly and it looked like the ORIGINAL version of the site. I liked the change because it made >>MY<< life easier on the backend. So that was a win-win.
All that said, I think this site layout is great. It's simple. It's my friend always there for me. If there's not a functionality win for either users or you, I wouldn't change.

Wow, I was just reading some WrestleCrap stuff like two hours ago. Talk about a mindscrew.

About the only change I would consider making, is having the main forum page on the mobile site display the date of the last post in each sub forum, like the computer version of the site does.
So one can see whether a new post has been made simply from the main forum page, rather than having to click on and enter each sub forum. But I assume this information is not displayed, to keep the mobile site readable.
EDIT: That reminds me of a little site bug/oversight. The text in the search box of the main mobile site is black against a black background, when using Chrome at least.
The forum software isn't mine. It's open source and would be difficult to alter. I think for the mobile site the forum software basically just truncates when you see on the main site. I did however include the hot topics link on the main page which may help.
I will have to investigate the search issue on the mobile site. Anyone else noticed this?

lol, you have this website identity crisis on an annual basis. I know we like it “as is”, but certainly understandable if you want to mix things up just out of boredom. Nothing wrong with that. Your site, your rules.

No, I don't have an identity crisis and I'm not bored. I think what I'm really curious if how people outside of this forum regard the site. Did they think "this site is oozing with retro goodness", and do they take one look and close the tab?
