Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Released Early
Is this clickbait? How does a Nintendo alarm clock equate to the Switch 2 being released?

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Released Early
I ordered it for my daughter for Christmas. And then my wife suggested I use it. You see, my alarm clock is circa late 80s. At 35 years old it's pretty bare bones but works.
So...I'm now the proud owner of the Switch 2.
Pros:
It's got a cool spinner to pick things from and has a satisfying punch when you push the nob down. The different alarm wake up sounds vary from incredibly chill to hurry up and leave. Mine's currently set to random mode. It supports setting specific days so you can have it automatically off on the weekends which I find quite nice. The setup and online connection was easy and it supports downloading more themes as they become available.
Cons:
There's no easy way to test each of the wakeup sounds without setting an alarm which is a pain.
For testing out the alarms use the Youtube video to figure out which one you'd like.

The motion detection feels a bit gimmicky. That feels to be the least useful functionality on it but your mileage may vary. For me it's a miss. The instructions say it can detect you getting out of bed and stepping away from it. It worked in the setup but not in the real world. I'm guessing having a wife and dog on the bed may have confused it.
Overall:
I like it. Is it worth $99+ tax? Probably not.
But, considering I haven't bought a new alarm clock in 35 years I'm digging it. I'll most likely order a second for my daughter.

I've had an alarm clock since the 90's that I can't get rid of. It's a chicken with a guitar that sings an extremely irritating song.
But it wakes me up! I've been waking up to that silly song for like 30 years. That being said, it's going to end up dying one day, and I probably should get another one.

The perfect alarm clock sound would be Navi from the Legend of Zelda games. That little thing would have ANYBODY out of bed in seconds.

I can't remember the last time I set an alarm clock. Unless I need to get out of bed before 5, I pull a "Kramer", set my internal clock and I am up and ready for action.
