Are there any upcoming games you're excited for?

I just watched a YouTuber I follow called Iron Pineapple play the demo for Overthrown, and I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on it. It's what you'd get if Nintendo decided to turn Mario Odyssey into a city builder. It puts you in the middle of a blocky Minecraft-esque world (that I'm pretty sure is randomly generated but I can't find anything confirming it) and you have to gather resources to craft buildings, which villagers will then move into. The main gimmick is that you can pick up and throw literally anything. Rather than chop down trees individually, uproot them and chuck them at your sawmill. Or even better, pick up the sawmill and use it it mow down the entire forest! Your character handles like Mario, bouncing and double jumping everywhere, making traversing the map quick and fun. There's a little Sonic in there too, letting you sprint so fast you can even run on water. As your village grows, you'll have to gather more and more resources to keep your subjects fed and comfortable, and occasionally you'll be attacked and have to defend it. Iron Pineapple says the world feels pretty empty except for the odd bandit camp or monster nest, which is why I'm not fully sold yet. There needs to be something to discover out there, or else what's the point in having a big open world in the first place? And hopefully there's a goal to work toward besides just "keep making your village bigger forever." Terraria was fun because you were always working toward the next boss fight. Palworld is fun because you have the towers to conquer. When a game just tells me to build stuff for building stuff's sake, I lose interest pretty quick.

I am going to be a negative poo poo and say nothing greatly interests me insofar as new content releases outside of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

I am tired of remakes but Metal Gear Solid 3, Legacy of Kain Soulreaver 1 &2, and Suikoden HD remakes are on my radar. Will be playing retro or catching up on my backlog for the foreseeable future because all the games I am excited for are delayed indefinitely (or so long it may as well be forever). What happened to Hollow Knight 2 Silksong, or ES 6, or Prime 4?

I'm looking forward to the games DrLitch mentioned except for Suikoden (never played or looked into it).

Also Spirit of The Samurai, upcoming stop motion metroidvania.

I'm really excited for Haunted Chocolatier too. It's made by the same guy who did Stardew Valley, and is apparently going to be the same kind of relaxing, worksim game with enough differences to make it unique. Too bad there's been almost complete radio silence about it since it was first announced.

I am definitely looking forward to Streets of Rogue II. I do not play roguelikes at all, except for Streets of Rogue 1 which I really liked, so the sequel is hopefully going to be even better.

That face when aside from the obligatory "next Yakuza/Like a Dragon game" answer, the only game you're super looking forward to in 2025 is... a collection of retro Capcom fighters. Finally, Capcom vs SNK 2 is back! Still the greatest 2D fighter ever. Eat it, Third Strike enjoyers.
