Controller Destruction!

Postby jon » January 22nd, 2025, 5:28 pm

I can get a little mad sometimes, and I think I’m just the guy that smashes controllers. I suppose no one else does really. Here are a few of my most memorable:

1) smashed multiple controllers over Twisted Metal 2. I even broke the disc in half once.

2) I destroyed my Wii and everything to do with it a little over 10 years ago out of frustration with the system in general.

I’m much more of a rage-quit guy than a physical destruction type dude. Just because I don’t like having to rebuy things

I've worn out controllers for sure. Never intentionally broken them. Those ain't free to replace.

Nope. As kid we didn't have a lot of money. I can't imagine going to my mom and saying I broke a controller because I was mad.

Cursing a few times or shutting it off in frustration, sure, but never smashing things.

I can't even imagine doing something so stupid. I value my things and take care of them. I know how much I have to work to afford things. Destroying things for such a petty reason seems a bit counter intuitive to "having things."

Never intentionally broke a controller or any kind of other gaming device or peripheral. The fact that people legitimately do this is insane to me.

I've got to be honest man. If video games are making you that upset then maybe you need to step away from them for a while.

I will never live down the tooth marks in the SNES controller from when I was about 8 or 9 years old. My brother reminds me every several years.

I also recall smashing the PS1 controller against my desk several times due to missing a shot on Hot Shots Golf.

I’m not even saying this as a joke but man. You’ve got to lighten up if a hobby like video games makes you so angry that you’d physically destroy things. They’re supposed to be good times.

I have a policy if a game annoys me so much, I shout about it. I stop playing it.
