A few months ago around Halloween Silent Hill 2 Remake was made free to PS+ subscribers so I snatched it up on the PS5. Honestly, I didn't think I would ever get around to playing it but after finishing Expedition 33 (amazing, by the way) I was looking to play something different so I gave this one a spin. I am glad I did. This is a terrific game and if you are a fan of horror games and haven't checked this one out, do so! This is one creepy, scary game! My favorite aspect of the game was the combination of combat and puzzle solving, both of which I found to be well done. Also, there are difficulty settings so you can manage each aspect of the game to your liking. One cool thing is that when you wrap up the game it gives you a bunch of game statistics for your play through such as enemies killed, locked doors checked and so on. The most interesting to me was the fact that I checked the map(s) 1,300 times! About the only negative is the game is a bit long, it took me about 20 hours to complete so by the end I was looking to just wrap it up. Nonetheless, this is an easy A- in my opinion and I can only hope they do a remake of the original Silent Hill game.
