Best and worst console names

Just like everything else about the console, I love the name "GameCube." It's so unpretentious! It's just a cube that plays games. Simple, but effective.

I dont really like "nintendo entertainment system". Doesn't scream "worst name ever", but I find it pretty generic.

Not like the "Famicom" was much better.

But this was during a time when Nintendo was desperate for plausible deniability (It's not a video game console, we swear!) after the Video Game Crash of 1983 had retailers gunshy.

Best Console Name: Sega Dreamcast or Atari Jaguar

Worst Console Name: Xbox One X or Xbox Series X

Bally Astrocade sounded pretty snappy as well

Best of the best: Intellivision

To properly say and play Intellivision, you must dress the part, no exceptions. A tweed smoking jacket with a puffy white pirate shirt, MC Hammer Pants, Simpsons themed socks, and Converse high tops. And Hanes underwear, I can’t stress this enough.

So many bonkers handheld names. Game.com. WonderSwan. Mega Duck/Cougar Boy. The Supervision is really funny because everyone responsible somehow forgot that their portmanteau of "super" and "vision" was already an unrelated word.
