Just want to give the rest of you collectors out there are tip - keep your games out of direct sunlight, and sunlight in general!  A few weeks ago I noticed that a lot of my PS2 games on a shelf near a window were very faded on the spine.  For someone who likes to keep his games in tip-top shape, this was bad news.

So now I always keep the blinds drawn when I'm not in the room, and keep them drawn on particularly sunny days.

I'm sure some of you have purchased items off Ebay that look faded, and this was the likely reason.

Yes this has happened to a lot of my ps2 and saturn spines, I've now put shelving up in my loft definitely no sunlight issues there !

Yeah, I've noticed this happens to a lot of games. Thankfully, I'm not one for enjoying sunlight where I play my games so this has yet to be an issue. Still, good tip.

Not surprising, Ultraviolet rays aren't the safest.

Yeah, I knew about it, so that's why I plugged the windows up in my gameroom with cardboard.  It fades consoles too.

I usually have to close my blinds anyways so the sun dosen't glare off my TV screen, but now i've got even more reason to do so.

Gravity is the enemy of my game boxes.

The cover art's of my DVD cased and DVD like games keep sliding down and ultimately rubbing and hence becoming worn by the bottoms of the cases [frown]

You joking, cause those consoles change color regardless of any environmental factors. Something about the plastic makes it change.

I got a VHS tape a few years ago that was pink. I could tell that it used to be red. I imagined it sitting on a shelf in one of the many mom & pop rental stores that I used to live in.
