The number of things I can do with the message boards is very limited, because it's a service I pay for. I have been talking about running my own during the last year, but it's a pretty big project so that got shelved.
I really like the merchandise idea and I do plan to follow through with that suggestion! I was actually going to do that last year. Stay tuned.
Thanks for all the good feedback. I am taking them all in.
Gleebergoblin - actually the ebay/amazon links are in a large font already. And suggestions how to make them more prominent?

I know it's already been suggested & I know it's already been shot down, but still it's the only suggestion that I am passionate about: immediate message approval please. Half the members are moderators so I'm sure some moderator could remove any "bad" messages right away. I'll need an extra large t-shirt btw. Maybe the shirts can be based on the banners?

I agree... I understand the intent of the message approval system but I think having automatic approval would be really nice. I don't think it would mess with the quality of posts because once they go off topic they tend to get locked anyway. You could incorporate a couple other moderators as well if you are in fear that the quality of the posts would go down the drain.

Goblin? LOL. Actually, makes more sense than "globen".
The large font ebay and Amazon links are only when you click on a reviewed game. I'm talking more about the home page and the forum pages. I think a lot of people here go from the home page to the forums to make comments.
On your homepage and in your forums, the E-bay and Amazon links are tucked away in the upper corner. Since this is your bread and butter, I see nothing wrong with putting these links more prominently on these pages, with something like "If you'd like to buy something from Amazon or Ebay, please use my links, and your purchases do not have to be video-game related. These links help keep this site running" or words to that effect. Just my two cents.

| Somebody mentioned they wanted the reviews on the main page to go back further, so I changed it back to the way it was. | |

I think reputation would be cool for the forums. I'm a member of some forums that use green for good reputation and red for bad reputation. And I know someone is going to say that that's just gonna cause a lot of drama. But you know what? This is one of the most mature, if not the most mature, communities I have ever been a part of. I'm pretty sure we're all mature enough not to get upset over a little red square on the internet.

You should compile a list of hardware revisions for each Cartridge and CD/DVD based consoles. Unless this has already been done, disregard.

I got a good idea: You could allow users with a certain amount of posts (maybe 50 or higher) and who are known to be good users who don't cause a lot of trouble to post without mod approval.

Then everyone should get that, like the mods have.
We have great posters here, so all should enjoy the same privileges. If anything, I would make mod posts go into a common folder that the regular users would then approve.
