I was reading on slashdot.org about the future of physical media. The main article deals with DVDs/Blu Rays but I think it also applies to video games.
The article is okay but it's the Slashdot comments that really shed a lot of light on the issue. I'm a big proponent of physical media and I think a lot of the comments reflect a number of good reasons why it's so much better.

Physical Media Down But Not Out
I am as well, digital media does come in handy when I want to get say a PC game on Steam due to the physical copy having ridiculous copy protection/DRM like Starforce, it's also handy for watching older movies online when physical copies are either long out of print or unavailible in the U.S..
For the most part though, I try to get physical copies as long as they're not rare and/or expensive.
