I read with great interest this article about how Japan still loves CDs. The article is short but some of the comments are insightful. I wonder if Japan feels the same about their video games (prefer physical media)? If so, they are a lot like me. Yeah, I still buy CDs - no digital music.
Some comments make a point that the CDs tend to come with a lot of extras in Japan, and we just get bare-bones here. That's one thing that always annoyed the heck out of me when CDs were starting to be phased out a few years ago. They started packaging them in cheap, disposable cardboard sleeves instead of plastic cases. It's like they were actively encouraging customers to go digital - giving them another reason.
One thing that's odd is that the Japanese tend to have less space than Americans, so you would think they would prefer to have stuff on the computer instead of boxes laying around. I guess not.
Thoughts?

Japan loves CDs
I only get CDs that are not available on digital sites(or are cheaper to buy then getting each track individually on iTunes).
When it comes to games though, I generally prefer physical over digital.
Some CDs still have decent stuff, it varies from album to album, there were some ridiculous cases of packaging like recycled paper used in the Ozzy Osbourne album Black Rain.
