Winter Game Ideas

During this time of year I  like to play winter-themed games and I'm always looking for new ideas.  Here are a few I've been playing:

SSX (PS2) - I had forgotten how much fun this is, and the split-screen action is terrific.

NHL Hockey (Genesis) - NHL 94 is probably the best, but they are all good in their own way.  In NHL 93 you can check your opponent so hard his head bleeds.  That's awesome.

Stay Frosty 2 (Atari 2600) - Although the music is Christmasy, this new home brew is great to play in the cold months.

And let's not forget the obligatory Empire Strikes Back games.

You could do a whole "evolution of skiing", from that crappy slalom game in Street Racer, though the Activision and Intellivision skiing games, whatever the NES and Genesis had, Val d'Something-or-other for the Jag, 1080, Rippin' Riders, various SSX and Winter Olympic games, and finally pull out the balance board for Wii Fit.

I can't believe SSX was in the Game Spotlight today!  Those games are chose randomly from about 4500 reviews!!

Easy fix - move the Right Difficulty switch to A. Not only will the in-game music go away, but that audio channel will be repurposed to play sound effects (so you'll be able to hear 2 sound effects at a time instead of just 1).

The first act of Dragon Age: Inquisition is set in a snowy, mountanous area. If you liked the gameplay of Diablo III, I guarantee you'll like this one.

SpiceWare - thanks for that tip!  I just added it to the end of the review. I also added the winter icon.
