90's Arcade Racer

Any fans of 90's arcade racers been following this project? Looks to be one of the few Kickstarter videogame projects that will actually amount to something worthwhile. Screenshots look great and capture the spirit of their source of inspiration perfectly. 

They're aiming for a mid 2014 release. Will be on Wii U, PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android. No Xbox/PS conversions for whatever reason although I personally think the 360's gamepad is particularly well suited for arcade racers like Daytona USA. I suspect if it does well though, that is subject to change later on.

Likely will be my first non Virtual Console Wii U eShop purchase.

It looks like fun, I am not a huge racer fan, but I do end up buying a few each generation.

Just from the screenshots I'm excited. I suck at Daytona USA but love it. Also love Cruis'n. Hopefully this plays something like them

Looks really good.  Why can't they make games like this for consoles any more?
Seems like everything has to be hyper realistic = boring.

Yeah, "realistic" racers like Gran Turismo don't do much for me, I prefer stuff like Full Auto.

A youtube video of the gameplay just came out. It looks amazing. A lot of work left though. Probably won't be ready until much later this year.
