So i read that Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris was getting a retail release.
Well, thats true if you just want to buy a code with a case. This is partly my
fault as it says in little writing on the case, but i didnt pay attention as im used
to thinking if im getting a case, well then there's a game in it..wrong lol
So anyway, im sure its been done before but this is my first experience with this.

Thank you for sharing this. I have wanted to play this but I dislike buying downloadable games. The fact that they did this is heavily misleading. The Metal Gear Solid collection pulled the same crap but they at least had a few games on there.

I would return that thing and give the store hell.  What a rip off.

I remember when Capcom did that with the Marvel vs Capcom 2 re-release on the PS3. It made NO sense!

What's the point of doing this? Either release a physical product or don't.

I'm fine with buying downloadable games as there are some pretty good ones out there like Deep Black and Hydrophobia.

That's not the subject at hands. We're discussing buying games at retail assuming
they're based on disk to find out later they're only digital, it's not a physical vs digital
thread, much less is it a topic about said digital games merits.

But do these come in a misrepresenting package sold at a brick and mortar that's been on the decline since 2003?

Dude this is a ripoff plain and simple. Don't sell me a piece of crap leaflet with smudging ink code to unlock. That's literally going nowhere no matter what your stance on the Physical or Digital medium is.

Even Nintendo has now pulled this stunt. [frown]

At least Capcom corrected themselves and put out what they should've did originally with DucKTales: Remastered (Not that it was of any help to those that bought the initial retail edition without reading the fine print). But this is definitely a disturbing trend.

I hope that most that appreciate the merits of physical releases aren't falling for these things. Having something that looks neat on your shelving is only one small facet of the appeal of physical releases.
