You'll enjoy them for the most part only if you really like the .Hack setting, universe, and characters to begin with. They're interesting games, for sure--but mechanically, there are far better games to spend your time with. .Hack//Sign is one of my favorite shows of all time, but even I didn't remain very interested in the games.

Value:
Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis on Xbox already sells for $100 complete. Digimon Rumble Arena is probably the 2nd most valuable xbox game.
Rarity:
Sniper Elite and IHRA Sportsman edition Drag racing are both extremely rare for the Original Xbox. If collecting for xbox goes main stream expect these two games to skyrocket in value. Right now they are hovering around $20 but there is only ever 1 or 2 listed on ebay at any given time if your lucky. Madden 09 is another very rare game for Xbox and it was the last officially released game for the system.
The Guy Game (for both PS2 & Xbox)
This was a stupid trivia-based game that feature girls getting naked during Spring Break. Later, it was discovered that one of the girls was actually underage during the filming so the game was discontinued. But the game had a pretty limited release already. So I'm willing to bet that this game will become extremely pricey in the future due to its rarity and explicit nature, much like the unlicensed x-rated Atari 2600 games were/are.
Wouldn't having an underage girl in it make that game illegal to own? I'm a big collector, but I have no interest in owning underage pornography.

I feel every Xbox multiplatform game will have higher value than PS2 multiplatform games due to the Xbox being really popular only in North America.
Here are some exclusive PS2 and Xbox games that I think will skyrocket in value a decade from now:
PS2:
The entire Sega Ages: 2500 line
Zone of the Enders series
Metal Slug 3 (Japanese-only)
Metal Slug 6 (Japanese-only)
Taito Memories I & II line (not Legends)
Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition (more refined compared to the much harder North Amercian/European original releases having much less balanced gameplay)
Xbox:
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Ootogi series (especially due to the popularity of the Souls series)
Gunvalkarie
Steel Battalion
Ninja Gaiden Black
Taito Legends 2 (due to being a region-free European release and having exclusive games)

I've never heard of anyone being arrested for owning "The Guy Game", so I would imagine it's not illegal, but still I see no point in owning when it's more interesting to watch other people play it on Youtube.

That is nuts, Operation Genesis dosen't even sound like a very good game(Jurassic Park simulator? No thanks), it sounds like one of those games you see cluttering bargain bins.

I had it back in the not so long ago day and traded it in very quickly. It was a decent game, just not my cup of tea. While stores still had Original Xbox titles it was one that every store seemed to have at least two used copies of for between $19.99 and $29.99 used. They always just sat on shelves, and never went down in price for some reason. Had I known it would become the single most consistently expensive original Xbox game I would have hoarded copies- there was certainly no shortage of them. As for why exactly this title has become so expensive I have no idea, only bafflement. The print run was apparently somewhat low, but still more extensive than other far cheaper titles. I highly doubt it will be re-released anytime soon if ever, but there must be some sort of gamer demand driving the prices on this.
