I've just downloaded Daytona and Sega Rally Arcade from PSN, two of my favourite racing games of all time.
I have these on Saturn / PS3 respectively but the addition of trophies has hooked me. I get to replay them and get a new set of objectives which freshen the game up.

Similarly I have been replaying MGS 2 on the Metal Gear HD collection and again enjoyed replaying this gem with the trophy objectives added.

I've also seen that Another World, Streets of Rage 2 and Nights are on PSN with trophy support as well.
I can go into retro heaven with this modern twist.

Do you think trophies extend a games life or freshen up old games ? I certainly do - lots of fun trying to remaster the classics. Come on Sega I want the Shinobi series with trophy support !

Sega Rally Online Arcade was relisted? Was removed about two years ago at the expiration of the auto licensing in North America. Glad to see that it's back. Along with Outrun Online Arcade, these three Sega arcade racers are probably my favorite downloads of the past generation.

Some Shinobi games are here. The Genesis title Revenge of Shinobi is available to download with a set of trophies. And if you buy Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (A retail compilation), you'll get a set of 40 Genesis titles each with a single trophy (Including Shinobi III) along with the bonus of two Master System games and seven arcade games (No trophies with the bonus content, but arcade Shinobi is included here as well).

And if you have an Xbox 360, arcade Shinobi saw a standalone XBLA release with a full slate of 12 achievements/200 achievement points.

Jumped the gun a bit I was going to download Sega Rally tonight after downloading Daytona last night and heavily reading up on the trophies. It has indeed been removed which I'm gutted about now, yet another issue with digital distribution.

I do have MegaDrive/Genesis Ultimate Collection which I have got all the trophies. Thanks for the heads up on Revenge of Shinobi Leo.

Just getting into the PS Trophies 'thing' I'm Sut1978 if anyone wants to get in touch on PSN.

Too bad that I bought it on XBLA, otherwise, I'd of shared a license with you. I think it predates the switch to 2 licenses instead of 5 for PSN purchases, so PS3 owners that bought it when it was new likely have 3 or 4 unused licenses. If you have any buddies that have it, consider asking them to share it (A feature that was at one time officially condoned by Sony, they even had a tutorial up explaining how).

On the bright side, you can still track down Sega Rally Revo since it was a retail release. It's a bit confusing, but Sega Rally Revo was the expanded home counterpart to the arcade game Sega Rally 3. Then a few years later, Sega Rally 3 proper was brought home as a download (It has a unique track and some unique layouts for the other circuits), except with its vehicles replaced with Revo cars instead of maintaining the arcade's lineup.

Just to add my opinion here since I neglected to the first time, I agree completely. A well designed set of trophies/achievements can definitely complement a game.

I didn't realise there was so much retro goodness on PSN, in the absence of Sega Rally I downloaded R-Type Dimensions. Which is R-Type 1&2 what is cool about it you can switch between classic (ie arcade perfect) graphics and sound to remade 2.5d graphics on the fly.

@Leo I have Sega Rally Revo for the PS3 but it has no trophy support unfortunately which is why I wanted the Arcade edition. I have completed the game fully but would have liked to see what trophies would have been and give me a good reason to replay.
