Funniest Games You Played

Postby Captain_Crunch1 » February 8th, 2014, 8:15 am

I was scrolling through the VGC's list of games with the 'funny icon', and I was wondering: what are the funniest games you played (on all platforms, including PC)? Here are some I can think of now (I probably forgetting a couple of games):

- Portal 2
- Sam & Max Hit the Road
- The Secret of Monkey Island
- Kid Icarus Uprising
- Duke Nukem 3D
- Duke Nukem Forever (yes.. childish [tongue])
- Earthworm Jim
- Paper Mario Sticker Star

Both of the Portal games (especially the second one) are hilarious. In fact,
they're funnier than than most of the comedies I've watched over the years.

Double Fine is does a really good job with comedy in their games; Psychonauts,
Costume Quest and Brutal Legend all have a lot of clever, memorable dialogue.

While I've never played Sticker Star, I remember laughing quite a bit during
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.

Both of the No More Heroes games have a handful of funny moments, although
there are also plenty of times where they  cross the line into obnoxiousness.

I know the game ended up going wayyyyyyyyy over-the-top in it's use of profanity
during it's second half, but I still think there are a few genuinely funny bits in
House of the Dead: Overkill. On the other hand, the awful voice-acting in House of
the Dead 2 (especially the actor who voices Goldman) make it even funnier
than Overkill without even trying.

- Broken Sword
- Viz The Computer Game
- Uncharted Series (some of Drakes remarks and banter are very amusing)

Portal, Portal 2, GTA 5, and of course, the winner, Psychonauts.

This one was not popular with the critic, and several others on the site apparently didn't like it either.  Even I usually don't like this type of humor (particularly potty humor), but Conker's Bad Fur Day completely killed me.  I'm a big opera fan, and the opera singing poo was probably the most unexpectedly funny thing I had seen in a video game up to that point.  I also really enjoyed all of the movie scenes recreated with Conker's furry friends.

Parodius Da!, DJ Boy, among others, the absolute funniest would have to be Toilet Kids, on Pc Engine.

Conker's Bad Fur Day and GTA 5 are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. Been playing Clash of Clans lately on my iphone and the full commercial for it is pretty funny.
