The good part about my games not being out yet...

Postby Herschie1 » May 3rd, 2014, 5:54 am

It forces me to expand my horizons. I like games like Zelda, Madden, Mariokart, MLB: The Show, and Metroid. Madden sucked, so that's out. Now I get to wait for MLB: The Show for the PS4. Three more agonizing days!

However, with the lack of my games being out yet, I tend to want to get some use out of my systems. This forces me to go off the beaten path. I picked up Pikmin for the Wii U, and had a decent time playing that. Then my wife wanted Tomb Raider for the PS4, and WOW, that is the best looking game I have ever seen in my entire life. I'm even thinking about grabbing Donkey Kong, and I'll most likely download Wolfenstein once it comes out on May 20th.

Remember when the 360 came out? Perhaps you remember just how AWFUL Madden 06 was on that system. Other than that, there wasn't a whole lot of games out that I wanted at that point. I picked up Burnout Revenge, and that was fun. But I was looking for something with a little more oomph behind it.

So I grabbed FIFA, and just in time for the 2006 World Cup. Looking back on it, it was a pretty crappy soccer game, but at that point in time, I wasn't even into soccer, so what did I know? I absolutely loved that game, and to this day I'm a soccer fan. I'm glued to my television during the World Cup, and of the four games I bought at launch for the PS4 (Madden, Call of Duty, NBA 2K14, and FIFA), only FIFA remains. And I'm having a blast playing it.

In addition, I've had fun playing Warframe, and Blacklight: Retribution. And I was absolutely INFATUATED with the charming nature of the Trine 2 demo. Might just grab that, seems like a rich person's version of the 3D-i Zeldas. And finally, the demo of Trials Fusion has kept me occupied for quite awhile.

I do wish that my favorite games were out already, but I'm keeping more than occupied in the meantime by playing games I don't normally play.

Neat post. Yeah, I am very similar except it is usually handhelds that I am like that with. Due to the fact that handhelds are portable, I'm a lot more willing to put time into games I might otherwise ignore if I had to sit down and play it on a console.

Similar for me as well, except in my case it's older PC games i'm playing.
