I do think that when MS secures a third party exclusive, people declare MS is evil, unfairly.

Agreed, and i'm surprised that so many people seem to have forgotten that Sony did the exact same thing with this franchise before and no one accused them of being "evil" or anything like that, seems kind of hypocritical if you ask me, MS is just making a smart business decision here, Sony already has the Uncharted series, so it makes sense for MS to want to secure TR as an exclusive franchise(if only for a few months as a timed exclusive).
I heard through the grapevine that the main reason for this is that the last game performed slightly under expectations, so MS agreed to fund this one so that it wouldn't be required to sell as much in order to break even in exchange for exclusivity.

Moneyhatting third parties rather than investing in studios and game development is bad for the industry, doesn't matter who does it.
Tomb Raider DE sold 2:1 on PS4 over Xbone.
You're gonna have to provide a citation for Sony moneyhatting Tomb Raider II, and if true explain why something from seventeen years ago is relevant to this discussion.

Do you have any actual proof that it's "bad" for the industry? Cause i'm not seeing any.
It is relevant because people are acting like this is the first time Tomb Raider has gone exclusive when that's not the case.

- It's bad if you don't want to buy an Xbox One to play a single game...
- It's bad for the consumer that doesn't want to purchase multiple consoles...
- It's good for the console owner as it provides additional incentive to pick up the console.
However, I wouldn't say it's bad for the industry as some win and some lose.

You don't have to buy an Xbox One for it, as it's also available on the 360 and it's only a timed exclusive, so no you won't have to buy multiple consoles to get it, you'll just have to wait a few months or so.

It would be best for the industry if there were only one platform. I don't have to purchase a Sony DVD player to watch Sony Pictures Classics do I? I think videogames should be no different. Innovation in this medium is about great software, not hardware.

Money spent for content-denial rather than content-creation is bad for the industry.

Wrong. And if you think that is right - then go to PC.
