I didn't really care about the rest of the presentation. I just skipped through all the parts where they were talking about TV and internet. Oh but they're remaking The Last of Us! Ya know... because a 1 year old game totally needs a remake, right?
It desperately needs a remake. Many Xbox 360 owners have jumped ship to Playstation this time, and they aren't going to buy a PS3 now just to play The Last of Us. I will have a PS4. I do not have a PS3. I will buy this game and am glad for the chance. This is like how Twilight Princess came to the Wii. Your huge new system gets a lot of help when it gets one of the best games on your more niche system, and buyers of just the huge system want that game on what they actually own.
One thing I've noticed is that a lot of people have been wondering whether Link is a girl in Zelda Wii U. Honestly, why does it even matter? I mean, it's already been established that there are different Links. Honestly, most Links are different from one another anyways, so who cares if one of them is a girl. Honestly, I think it's awesome if this is true. I never thought about Link's gender, but the more I think about it, the more I think it'd be really cool to save Hyrule as a female Link. A badass female hero that saves Hyrule? Count me in!
First of the Abridged videos is up for this year:

I'd suggest also going to Matt Lee's youtube channel and checking out his video looking for donations, which I will be contributing (yes, I am aware that makes me a hypocrite about Kickstarter and means I concede defeat to scotland and the others because reasons, that's why!) In particular, his explanation of how modern media companies work will be of great interest to Segatarious.

Strongly disagree on Ubisoft's conference being "low brow trash", I think that's absolute nonsense, I don't see why you're insulting "adult gaming" for no apparent reason, I for one was quite impressed by their conference as well as EA's.
I think it's a bit too soon to remake Last Of Us, I haven't heard of that many 360 owners moving over to Playstation, so I don't see the game selling as well as it originally did.

I caught Nintendo's yesterday and really enjoyed the Miyamoto vs Filsimi (sp?) fight at the beginning. Their show was entertaining.
Announcing a new Star Fox was aces all the way. Unfortunately, it's most likely going to be a 2016 release. If Zelda comes out in 2015 and a few other odd ball games I doubt they'll have Star Fox available in 2015.
I really thought Sony had won all of the shows hands down until they stopped talking about games and started talking statistics and how you can share your videos on Youtube. Seriously? I don't care. Regardless, mad props for a Grim Fandango remake. That sealed the deal on me buying a PS4.
The only thing that I was hoping for that didn't get announced was a Star Citizen console exclusive. That would have been epic.
EA's presentation this year paled in comparison to last year's. Mirror's Edge 2 looks great and Battlefront will be awesome. I haven't seen Ubisoft's presentation yet. Maybe, they have something cool?
At any rate we live in interesting times for gamers. Good stuff all the way around.

Actually, that was Iwata--not Miyamoto
. Miyamoto was too busy fiddling around with Star Fox I guess. But yes--it was a very entertaining little Digital Event.

As a huge Starfox fan, thank GOD Miyamoto is behind the new game! I loved Starfox 1 and 64, but every game that they have farmed out has left me underwhelmed.
Overall, I think that this year's presentation was just what the Wii U needed! I get tired of seeing a never ending rotation of Zelda and Mario, but I have to admit that Mario Maker puts a fresh spin on things, and I'm incredibly excited to experience Zelda in a huge open world!

Here's an interview with Splatoon's developers from IGN.
http://www.gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=230660
They say in the interview that there will be offline play. It being online multiplayer only was my only gripe with it. Now that I know that's not the case, I'll eventually pick up a copy.
