I think I'm in.  I'm in a strange time zone (everything on the hour for you guys will be on the halfs for me) and have two kids, so finding a workable time will be tough.  Still, I could stay up late and if you guys were on even 10:00 EST, I suppose I could do an hour from 11:30PM to 12:30AM without losing too much sleep.

[QUOTE=Segatarious]This game also supports player hosted tournaments, any rules you like. So.....great looking game, free game after purchase, online Tourney Mode. Will this board step up to the plate and join the VGC MK Invitational   ???

One more thing: We should not talk in the lobbies.  Me and Wur (who used to post here) did a google chat one time and are both still trying to forget it.  People don't sound like you picture them.  For example, I sound like some kind of Irish Cockney blend but write in proper English.

Good decision by Nintendo. Offer a free digital download for the best selling game that they have by requiring a registration. It says smart business move all over it.

1. digital download = no real loss of product.
2. Mario Kart = Fans want it so they'll be happy to get something free on top of it.
3. Registration = puts gamers online which promotes online play.

Agreed.  It also pushes people like me over from a "Yeah, I'll likely get this game" to a "I'd be crazy to not get this game."  That, and the thing you mention about getting people online just when they buy an online enabled game is a great strategy.  In marketing it is called "nudging" and the CBC podcast/radio show Under the Influence just did a whole show on the practice.  It was cool to listen to a show about the technique, then see it in action.

Everyone here should listen to Under the Influence by the way.  It's actually a fantastic, high quality weekly audio documentary about marketing campaigns and practices, from a "isn't this cool" perspective, not a "CBC investigates" one.

Well, there is some loss of product - for exp Banjo is not going to be buying Pikmin 3, he will wait and have it for free.

It is a nice reward for previous buyers, and great incentive for on the fence buyers and new buyers.

Just out of interest does registering the game tie it to you ? I understand that it can't be registered multiple times to stop people letting their friends get free games. But does it stop you from trading / lending the game out in the future ?

[QUOTE=Atarifever]So if you buy this game, you get the game, the free game, I believe $5 from the eShop if you have a Deluxe Wii U (as the free game still counts as a download of a full game), and a pile of Club Nintendo points (this is one of the games that gives you an additional 10 points for telling them you intend to buy it). That is a lot of potential gaming for the money (I always trade Club Nintendo points for VC games).

I completely forgot about the money back for the deluxe wii u. So glad you reminded me. I just checked and I have $15 in wii u points!

I will recommend "Little Inferno." It's $9.99. As far as gameplay goes, there isn't much of anything at all. You basically burn weord stuff with funny descriptions in a fireplace for hours. You try to get combos by burning the right items together (based on descriptive names you have to figure out, like "Cold War" and "lol cat"). That is it.

What the game does have, that has kkept me at it for a few nights in a row now, is atmosphere and art direction. If you like, and this may not be many people, the mood and style of The Binding of Isaac and Salad Fingers this game will be up your ally (especially if you see it through). If you don't know those things, go watch Salad Fingers, the Binding of Isaac trailer, and the Little Inferno theme on Youtube (skip the LI theme if you don't want to spoil and early in game reward). If those things suit you, the game will be worth it. If not, avoid at all costs, because art style and mood is the entire game.

Thanks Atarifever. I actually already have little inferno. I bought it pretty soon after I bought my wii u. Loved it. I also have the mighty switch force games and highly recommend them. I generally prefer physical copies of games, but I don't think there are any for those games and they're worth owning.

Anyway, I used the 15 towards mario golf world tour, which is very fun. I also went out and reserved mario kart. I wasn't planning on getting it at all, but this deal, combined with a 30 dollar gift card to gamestop from my birthday, pushed me over the edge. Gonna download pikmin 3
