The growing generation gap???
Pacguy19- Whether half of those games are "mediocre" is merely your opinion not a fact, i'm not equating anything to objective equality here so I have no idea what you're going on about.
Seriously. Just stop.
Not everything needs to be fact, this is a forum. For opinions. You know what those are, right?

Can I just say that it's totally okay to like something bad as long as you have some sense of self-awareness? I can enjoy Andrew WK's music, Rocky IV, and Wizard magazine without thinking that any of those things are actually good. I've heard too many people answer criticisms of something with "Well, I like it!", as if that has anything to do with quality.
Also, "There are plenty of X that are worse than Y" is an awful defense of anything.

Pacguy19- Stop what? Saying that what you're saying is not fact even though you say it like it is? You know the difference between facts and opinions right?

velcrozombie- But the thing is everyone has their own definition of whatbad" is, I don't have to be self-aware to like something that I feel is genuinely good and not bad despite what others say. I for one do think Rocky IV and Andrew WK are legitimately good as do plenty of other people.
Everyone has their own definition of quality as well, so it's not just that I like the games I mentioned, I think they are all genuinely well-executed for what they are.

Yes, my opinion is my opinion. Good job. You can stop repeating it like this is some stunning revelation.
Similarly, your opinion that Perfect Dark Zero is a good game is also an opinion. A majority opinion, yes, but an opinion nonetheless. Just because a lot of people think it doesn't mean it's true. It also doesn't mean it's false, because it's an opinion, and opinions are, by definition, unprovable. I hope I'm stating this clearly enough for you.
I'm done responding. It's incredible how fitting a name like Vexer really is.

Yeah, that's important to remember. I found this out firsthand when I found myself kind of liking the crappy post-grunge boom of the late 90s. Guilty pleasures I guess.

Pacguy19- I hope i'm stating this clearly enough for you, I know very well what an opinion is, I was merely disagreeing with your posts as their tone gave me the impression that you were asserting your own opinions as facts.
I was merely disagreeing with your posts as their tone gave me the impression that you were asserting your own opinions as facts.
You know, you're allowed to do that. I've said many times over that Final Fantasy XII is the worst game ever. Obviously, this is my opinion. You know it. I know it. Everyone here knows it and I'll never deny it. Just because I state it like a fact doesn't change what it is. Is it objectively the worst game ever? No. Plenty of people like it and there are tons of worse games out there. But I still hate it more than any other game ever made and I have my reasons for that. It is also my opinion that Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is the worst movie ever made. I say this after having seen Plan 9 from Outer Space, Birdemic, The Room, and a little movie called Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter, the latter of which I couldn't even finish. That's right. I would rather watch a movie I couldn't even sit through than Scott Pilgrim. Just like FFXII, I say it's the worst ever. Everyone knows it's just my opinion and nothing more. You see, people can phrase things in certain ways that don't have to be taken literally. So the next time I write something like "Regular Show is the worst garbage ever broadcast on TV", don't come in saying things like "That's just your opinion, man." I know that. Don't tell me things that I already know. That adds nothing to the conversation and makes you look annoying and whiny. From now on, let's try to respect pacguy's intelligence. I'm sure he knows what an opinion is. And lastly let's remember that we're all on a forum here. You wanna know what people do on every forum ever? They state their opinions. So get over it, already.
