Max you would pay for a game?

There are some games out there that fetch some rather shocking prices. What is the limit 6 of are willing to spend on a game? Personally, the only time I can remember considering paying more than what is charged for a new game was for Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii. Gamestop really screwed people over with that, charging $100 for a "rare" uses game, but I'd heard so many good things about it that I considered buying it anyway. Never did, though

I've spent a hell of a lot on some games... Probably far more then most people on the site would be willing to pay. It really depends on the game and the console.

There's a PS2 survival-horror game made by Atlus called Rule of Rose that I would very much like to own. The cheapest used copy on Amazon is hovering around $100; while I'd be willing to possibly pay a bit more, I would say that's my "soft" limit. As my income increases I could see going into the $200-300 range for a game that I badly want to play.

For a single game, I don't think I would want to pay more than $100 these days.

But if there was a really sweet game collection made available, like say... "Virtua Fighter Anthology," and it had a very limited release... then I might venture into the $150 - $200 territory

I have paid the equivalent of $80-90 a couple of times, but generally stick way below that. If there was something I really, really wanted then I would pay more. But I would need to be able to justify it in terms of rarity, it would have to be complete in good condition etc. I suppose Panzer Dragoon Saga is a clichéd but apt example. If I had more disposable cash then I would be willing to go higher in special circumstances.

The most I've paid for a game is $70, but I think best prices are around 30-40 bucks for a newly-released game.

40 dollars is usually my limit, i'm usually pretty stingy when it comes to spending a lot of money on a single game(50 dollars was the most I ever paid for a game, and that was for Yu-gi-oh Tag Force 3 on the PSP, it was never released in the U.S. and UK copies were rare and expensive, so I had to import it from Germany).

I would only pay hundreds of dollars for a game if I won the lottery or something like that.
