Mass Effect 2 Color Bleed

Postby DaHeckIzDat1 » January 24th, 2015, 4:20 pm

I've been playing Mass Effect 2 lately, and I've been seeing a lot of color bleed during the cutscenes. Especially for the blue-skinned Asari, for some reason. Would buying an HDMI cord fix that?

If you're not using HDMI, I would strongly urge you to switch to it as digital video cabling will provide a far superior image quality. If you're using an (analog) component cable, only the most expensive, maximally shielded cable will carry a video signal producing image quality equivalent to the cheapest HDMI cord ($5 or less on Amazon).

It is likely that using an HDMI cable will solve your problem.

Thanks! I've been shopping around the area, but the only one I can find is a 10 ft long one that walmart has for $20. I might need to order one online.

10ft is nice if you need the length, but bear in mind that longer cables suffer from signal degradation. 3 to 6 feet is the sweet spot, shorter always being better.

Yeah. I found out walmart had a few others, they just weren't in the video game aisle. Got a 4 ft one for $9.
