I agree with how ridiculous it was to imply that violent video games would make someone commit terrible acts of violence. I remember when Columbine happened they made a big stink about it. If anything, these games act as a way to get your aggression out nonviolently. Although, to be honest, games these days are awfully realistic and it can get creepy seeing some of the ways you dispatch your enemies.
I agree.  I don't have a problem with GTA, but I don't hold it against the people who do.  All things considered, those games really do have a ton of horrible messages in them.  Killing cops and innocent people, stealing, and prostitution.  I've played a few times and enjoyed it, but I definitely see why some people would be against them.

When I was eight years old, I rented Wizards and Warriors for the NES. My mom made me return it immediately. She said that she watched an episode of Donahue that focused on the satanic elements of that game! Funny, that I've never heard of any controversy surrounding that game!

Maybe she confused "Wizards and Warriors" for "Dungeons and Dragons"?

DaHeckIsDat-But thing is you never actually HAVE to do any of those things in the games, so I think if someone does choose to do that stuff in the game, it says more about the person then it does about the game developers.

When the gaming media decided it wanted to make gamers out to be wife beating man babies. Basically what Anita Snarkeesian had started.

We simply cannot enjoy things anymore. The soccer mom era in gaming media was a lot more sane than what we're putting up with now.

Just to clarify I don't condone nasty behavior in the workplace, I just don't think it needs to impact the perception of gaming.

I remember being told that computer games damage the computer, despite me pointing out that as far as the computer is concerned, it's just another program.
