It's time for Awesome Games Done Quick 2015, the latest iteration in a series of speedrunning marathons that have been raising money for charitable causes since 2010. Last year's AGDQ raised over a million dollars for the The Prevent Cancer Foundation, making it the most successful charitable game event yet.

Sweet, I look forward to these! Pretty good lineup too! I'll probably throw some money at the Punch-Out!! Wii portion for the Donkey Kong fight. I fail to see what's so awful about Karnov and King Kong 2, though.

They raised over a million dollars again nearing close to $1.5 million! I pitched in and bought the $30 tier on Humble Bundle with 100% of proceeds going to Prevent Cancer, the main charity for these events. A couple highlights for me were the Ninja Gaiden Relay Race (where all three NES Ninja Gaiden games were cleared in under 50 minutes by six people), Tetris: The Grandmaster exhibition (over an hour showcasing Arika's insane Tetris arcade series with a record being broken in the process), the end of Mischief Makers run (the runner proposed to his girlfriend near the end of his run against the Treasure-developed N64 game) among many other great runs. My least favorite moment is the failed Desent run where it was played on one of the easier difficulties.

I haven't watched the Tetris stuff yet, but I've heard that it's awesome. The Ninja Gaiden relay race was my personal highlight, both for the gameplay itself being exciting and for the great running commentary:
