Multi Task Games

Postby Tron1 » February 14th, 2014, 9:33 pm

I like playing games while I watch TV. Obviously I can't play games like Galaga, cause you can't take your eyes off that screen long enough to enjoy the other TV. I'm playing Casino Kid on the NES right now. I think poker games are great for when watching TV. I also like Monopoly & Wheel of Fortune on the SNES. Golf games like Hot Shots Golf are good cause you can dictate the action. Turn based strategy games are good too, but sometimes I miss important moves. Any other ideas?

Multi Task Games

Turn battle RPGs are perfect for mutitasking. In Final Fantasy or Pokemon there's no way you're going to die if you set down the controller. The enemies politely wait for you to come back before they kill you. Like you said, strategy games are the same but you might have no idea what the enemy did while you were gone. In an RPG you just check your health meter.

I like multitask games too. Sometimes I'll think I paused a game only to come back and see a gameover. It's nice to take that risk away.

Multi Task Games

I like Angry Birds for that sole purpose. Actually, most mobile games are great for this. Other then that, I'm too absorbed by what I'm playing to multitask.

I found a new one I'm having fun with while I watch Arrow Season 2. Board Game Topshop (PS1). It's similiar to Monopoly, but different enough to not just say it's a copycat. It moves at a brisk pace & has some colorful & inviting graphics. It manages to do "cute" without being obnoxious; a difficult task I might add. It's not hard & doesn't take long to learn. There's some strategy involved, but it's very basic so you don't have to pay too much attention to things. I'm really enjoying this game & glad I found it. It's not the sort of game you'd want to buy for $30 & just play, but for $5 while I'm watching TV it's great.

This is a neat thread. Are you playing on a Vita?

I like multitasking when it comes to grinding in RPG's. For example, I'm currently grinding/duplicating sources in FF7 (via the W-Item glitch) and it is kind of boring. Having something else to do while I'm playing makes it more bearable. I also like watching tv when I play on handhelds.
