Yeah, I definitely love the Sega compilation disk for the 360/PS3.  That thing is all kinds of awesome.

I have a strong dislike for retro compilation disks for modern consoles because of how inaccurate the emulation frequently is. Virtual Console for Wii/Wii U (which is handled by either the masterful M2 or Nintendo itself) or high-powered PC emulation is the only way to go in my opinion.

Yeah... I'm pretty sure that all the new Virtual Consoles have pretty much shot this fad down. I really enjoyed buying these in the past but it seems after the Sonic Gems Collection (or whatever it's called, with Sonic on the front) and the few 360 online compilations, there really hasn't been that many this (last?) generation.

Taito Legends 1 and 2 for PS2 are pretty good, as is the Data East Arcade Classics on Wii.

There are Atari and Intellivision compilations for DS, too. The touch screen makes an okay version of the Inty keypad for games that use it.

If I could only pick one retro game collection per company, I would probably go with:

Midway Arcade Treasures 1 (PS2)
Capcom Classics Collection Vol. 1 (PS2)
Namco Museum 50th Anniversary (PS2)
Atari Anniversary Edition Redux (PS1)
Taito Legends 1 (PS2)
SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 (Wii)
Sega Genesis Collection (PS3)
Data East Arcade Classics (Wii) (Is there another Data East collection besides this one?)
Intellivision Lives (DS)
