Today is Kentucky Derby Day. While I don't have much time for gaming this weekend, I may try to get in a little gaming tonight. Unfortunately, this is a genre that has not carried over well into video games. The Intellivision, of all systems, has a half way decent horse racing game (oddly enough, called Horse Racing - considering all the sports licenses they got on the cheap back then, I'm surprised its not Churchill Downs Horse Racing or something). So, it may be an Inty night. Is that on the Flashback, because I've forgotten, but I have the cart for it.
There is the Gallop Racer series, and I have that for the PS2, but I never got into it. Maybe I need to give it another go. There are also a series of Barbie games featuring horses, and I think I actually do have one or two of those. The Super Famicom has 'Battle Jockey' but I've never played it, and I don't think it was ever brought to the SNES. I think there are a couple more japan only horse racing games.
Anyone play any horse racing games?

I can remember me and my friends regularly playing Daily Double Horse Racing on the ST.

It's more of gambling sim but it was enjoyable with a group. I tried to play again recently but without friends to compete with and ridicule the game loses its charm.

We used to have a horse racing game on my family's first computer. It was super simplistic and all you did was place bets, but I used to play that, and Wheel of Fortune, all the time.

There was an arcade outside the movie in theater in the mall in OK City I used to visit. And this will sound terrible, but I always wished I could watch a few girls play this. Instead it was always teenage dudes and they just looked goofy.

Hoping more for something like this:

(This scene was the selling point of an otherwise forgettable 3rd rate early 90s comedy.)
I'm not familiar with that Namco arcade game. What is the name of it? I appreciate arcade games with hyper specialized controls like this. It just ups even a mediocre game.

The game was called Final Furlong.
Yeah, it usually looked more like this.
