Nintendo in theme parks

Reading that Nintendo is working with Universal Studios Theme parks.
Given a choice, I think Nintendo would work better with Lego Lands, which focus on younger families and would showcase and benefit both products well throughout the park. Mario and his pantheon would have been excellent there. We will see how Universal does it. A Hyrule ride would be fun, but since Mario is the corporate mascot, probably not.
While at Disney during the WiiU launch, Nintendo was at Downtown Disney with the WiiU systems. That was my first experience with it. I guess Nintendo won't be back there again.

Funny this is happening.
I've been thinking about this quite a bit since the Amiibo craze happened. Why the hell doesn't Nintendo have it's own theme park a la Disney? Unlike Sony and Microsoft...Nintendo is a first and foremost a brand. It's characters...stories and settings are beloved by people of all ages. They also have enough different properties to make the park interesting.
Think about it. You could literally have a Kingdom of Hyrule section. Then you could have a Mushroom Kingdom. Just with these two places alone the possibilities would be endless. They could have themed rides, characters running about. All sorts of stuff. I think most 30 years olds with kids would be at the very least interested in going. Plus it's already got a name and a built in game...Nintendoland!
Also...Nintendo really needs to breaking into other formats of entertainment. There should be animated Mario films and TV shows. High quality stuff. If they did it right it would be crazy.

I agree, which is why I suggested Legoland. These are new parks, just getting going, in search of an identity. Nintendo could be that identity. Lego has a few IPs of their own - chima, ninjago and the recent movie. The rest are licensed. A partnership with Nintendo would be awesome at the park, and sell video games and merchandise.
On the bright side, even a small Nintendo section would pull me over for a day at the Universal park and get me buying some Luigi merch, so thats good.

Luigi's Haunted Mansion!
The real attraction would be a Metroid Adventrures ride.
You could also have an F-Zero roller coaster
How about some obscure Nintendo characters walking around the park? hehe, Captain Rainbow! I'm kind of surprised we never got the Wii port for that one. The name alone sounds like a Saturday Night Live Ambiguously Gay Duo sketch.
Universal already has Marvel and the Simposons adding Nintendo makes it a must see visit.
I nearly talked my wife into going this past winter...If the baby thing doesn't work out, hello Universal Studios. And if the baby thing does work out Hello Universal Studios in 5-6 years...
