That Uncharted 4 presentation was pretty awesome. I've never even played one, but that looked neat and fluid. I may have to eventually jump in for the HD collection later if I ever decide on a PS4.
As for the conference after the big announcements, there was too much marketing filler in there, which I hate in these things, because they always have to point out a marketing or DLC deal or whatever else. I rather big companies just spend the money on their own studios rather than saying you can play a Call of Duty beta.
Overall, one of the better conferences, Sony needs to be less long winded though and have some showmanship. Announce the marketing crapafter the conference in a press release where it belongs and stick with the big hitters on stage.

Agreed. Both Nintendo and Microsoft seem to have figured this out (Nintendo even released a Nintendo Direct Micro last week, a Smash Bros. Direct yesterday, and other announcements during the World Championships to clear up all the small stuff, and they haven't even had their main event yet) I thought Microsoft had a tight presentation both this year and last, and felt that Sony had the least tidy presentation both years. Sony had the best E3 presentation ever three E3s ago, and they've been riding that out ever since. Hopefully next year they remember how to clean up the message.

What I said above about the presentation aside, No Man's Sky, The Last Guardian, and the Final Fantasy Remake reveal really were probably the best things we'll see at this E3. (Although an official Mother localization, Street Fighter Commands in Smash Bros, and the new Halo multiplayer mode are great. And the way the Xbox One is going to handle Backwards compatabilty is about the coolest post-release feature of a console I have ever seen.)

Is this a second coming for Final Fantasy or a desperate attempt to capture lightning in a bottle?
Kitase always said that an FF7 remake wouldn't be possible due to how much time and resources would be needed to reproduce that kind of experience with the level of visual quality that gamers are expecting. What's different now? Has Square Enix made enough money off of their acquisitions (tomb raider, eidos, etc) to finally make everyone's dreams come true? Do they still have the talent to make it happen? Is Uematsu willing to come back and oversee the sound design?
One matter of concern--I don't trust Nomura as director in Kitase's stead. I'm shocked that the latter opted not to reprise his role. Perhaps family obligations are the cause of his absence from the director's chair in recent FF titles.

Yeah EA was downright cringeworthy, their program sounds like a joke.

One thing that surprised the hell out of me at Sony's conference was the announcement of a Kickstarter for Shenmue III, hard to believe that the long awaited sequel is finally going to happen(there's no way it won't get 2 million on Kickstarter, it's already at around 1.4 million right now).
Sony's conference was a mixed bag overall though, some titles like Uncharted 4, Horizon: Zero Dawn and Firewatch looked pretty good, other titles like No Man's Sky, Dreams and Last Guardian(can't believe this actually still exists) didn't really catch my attention, and like others said the conference wasn't as tight as Microsoft's and dragged at times, Sony seems to have a habit of throwing unnecessary padding into their conferences(I.E. showing fan letters at last year's E3) and that's something they ought to fix.

It's especially surprising given that they now also have their own multi-day conference (PSX) where they made a bunch of announcements. And they attend Gamescom, Tokyo Game Show, and some smaller shows. They really can afford a shorter presentation with less filler.

Yeah Shenmue hit their goal someone last night. I'm curious why Sony didn't find this themselves. Perhaps they wanted to see if it would sell or perhaps the creators wanted to do this through the fans and didn't want restrictions on their work. Who knows? I hope it gets a physical ps4 release.

Boy am I glad Nintendo did those two pre-E3 directs and the extra announcements during the World Championships. They needed that extra time! Man, we had, um... Star Fox and the Ballblazer game is actually some kind of online Metroid thing or something. Oh, and there's an Animal Crossing board game, and... um... a bunch of new trailers for games they had at E3 last year.
Yeah, possibly the slowest year for Nintendo since Wii Music. Nothing there was bad, but it wasn't really necessary to do a whole Direct for it. If I were them, I'd have skipped the digital event and just had a series of announcements during breaks in the World Championships, and maybe added about 10 minutes to that Micro Direct the other day.
No reason Blast Ball couldn't have been revealed as a new Metroid during the Championships the other night. No reason the new online Four Swords and a few more details about the Animal Crossing decorater game couldn't have been on the previous Direct. Finally, I think the Skylanders announcement could have happened during Treehouse Live. Nothing there needed an E3 event.
