Went to both target & wal mart & couldn't find it for the 3ds. Isn't this game out yet?

Yeah, I am looking to pick this up as well but checked last week on Target's website and it had the game now announced for early November. The weird part is the game isn't on any new release pages on sites like gamestop (or at least it wasn't a week ago when I checked)... Maybe they don't advertise download games as much...

It's coming out November 3rd. It was delayed because Plague of Shadows was delayed and they really want that update on the disc at launch. The Vita version was delayed to an as yet undetermined date. I don't know the reason for that. And the Xbone version has been cancelled because of Microsoft's publishing policies. So if you're planning on picking it up for anything other than Xbone or Vita, you can go get it in two weeks.

I picked this up last night on my way home from work (technically today) for the PS4. I'm looking forward to finally playing it.

I'm excited to hear other opinions on it.

I just received the physical retail for the Nintendo 3DS. It comes with a nice manual, with some pictures in color. Also included is a leaflet with an URL for free download of all of the soundtracks of the game, which is nice.

However, I still also have installed the download version of the game on my 3DS and when I start the retail version, it boots as a new game, so it doesn't recognize the save data of the download version. I haven't figured out yet how to solve this problem, so I won't delete the download version for now. Anyone any ideas?

Furthermore, the Plague Knight add-on isn't standard installed on the cartridge, I guess you have to download update, just as with the download version.

I haven't figured out the Plague Knight add-on either. I was assuming it would unlock once I beat the game but since I haven't done that yet I don't know if that's true. Does anyone know if the Battletoads or God of War boss fights are on the physical version of the game? I know they were exclusive to specific consoles that you downloaded it for but I'm not sure if that also carries over to the disc.

As far as the game, I'm having a ton of fun with it. I wish I could have put more time into it over this week but works been crazy. I just beat Plague Knight and have quite a few other Knights to defeat. I have found the game very fun and enjoyable. I especially love the music and think it is well done. The game play is also really good and responsive, and the game isn't that hard so it's not too difficult to make progress. I really like the fact that you actually spend your money to buy upgrades as it makes it going out of your way to collect money/items an important decision. You can also destroy your checkpoints for cash which is a nice risk/reward system.

I just got the Wii U version delivered from Amazon the other day. It really is impressive, presentation-wise. That manual is thick. Over 40 pages, all in English! Not just 3 pages repeated in a bunch of different languages. You're telling me an indie company can afford to print a nice manual for a port of a download game? What's Nintendo's excuse? As for the actual game, I've seen plenty of indie games that claim to be just like those old hard NES games but they never get the look and feel right. Shovel Knight on the other hand, nails it. You could have shown me this game before I knew what it was and I would have believed it was some hidden gem on an older console. It is also very challenging and very fun. I knew about the ability to break checkpoints before I started playing and decided that I would break them all when I play it. It's not easy. Especially Plague Knight's stage, which is the last stage I played. That one took a few retries.

I also didn't see any option for playing Plague of Shadows. If someone figures that out, let us know.

You can use a cheat code to unlock the Plague Knight campaign. On the title screen hold attack, then press up up right down left left, release attack.

Furthermore, the developer confirmed that it is not possible to use save data from the download edition (3DS) for the physical release, since that latter saves the game states on cartridge... so you can start all over again.

Thank you! Do you happen to know about if God of War/Battletoads is on the physical release? I haven't paid my 5000 to get into the Hall of Heroes yet so I haven't found out.
