Envy may be correct.

However, is it really the "collecting" part that irks people? Or, is it the "hey, I'm going to post a video of my rad video game collection" that irks? Seems to be a whiff of arrogance in that.

Anyways, on to the real subject. It is envy. When you own thousands of games (like I do) it's kind of hard to play them all consistently. No one questions gun collectors, or music collectors for driving up prices.

Never heard the term before, but I guess I am one. I never sell my games. I don't think I have too many that are super valuable except maybe Panzer Dragoon Saga, but why should I sell it? I paid my $50 and I've likely got another 35+ years to live or so. I may wish to play it again. What's wrong with collecting?

Exactly. It's silly why some people are so butt-hurt over what others do with their game collections. It's my stuff, it's none of anyone's business what I do with it, whether or not I play the games once a year or once every ten or twenty years, whether or not I want to purchase a box and manual to go with it to make the game complete. I take care of my consoles and hope they last a long time so I can still play these games in the future, same with the games too. People should mind their own business. And Panzer Dragoon Saga was always going to be a rare game that would command a high price, it came out late in the life for an unpopular console and they only made like 10,000 copies of it. I won't let some whiny punk try to guilt trip me into selling it, or any of my games for that matter.

This is the first I've seen or even heard that term. Do I collect games ? Yes. .. Do I have thousands of games?, yes .. Do I care what someone else thinks ? Nope, ... Does it take me a while to get to some games? Of course it does , but I bought those games because I want them and want to play them, if that bothers someone , then oh well , grow up , go get your own copy, and get over it lol
