Nintendo is baffling. They should be able to cut the price on that ancient hardware.

Some of the MS deals aren't bad but they should just drop their price further. How can they justify a piece of hardware that is literally worse in every way for the same price as the competitor? It's the games that count but why skimp on the hardware in the first place if you aren't going to price it aggressively. Xbox One with kinect should be the same price as the PS4 or they should have made a system with the same graphical prowess.

Me? I'm just gonna sit on the fence until it all gets even cheaper. Maybe Quantum Break will change my mind, but probably not.

Honestly, I wish Nintendo was doing the same... It's depressing that the Wii U hasn't had a price drop and they have pretty much stalled on console sales. When I bought Shovel Knight I noticed the PS4 price drop as well as the Xbox One being 329.99 for the base unit, has the price dropped again or am I out of the loop (probably the latter)?

Newegg has a heck of a deal for anyone still on the fence for an 8th gen console:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product

Xbox One Gears of War Ultimate edition plus free gifts including:
Turtle Beach Ear Force DXL1 headset
NBA 2K15
Black Ops III
Assassin's Creed Unity

Not bad for $349 plus shipping.

EDIT: so much for that, looks like that deal is dead. May have been a website error.

I doubt we'll see really great deals on the Wii U in America until Reggie is ousted. Nintendo has a reputation of treating the US like the red headed stepchild compared to Europe and especially Japan. Our selection of rewards through the late Club Nintendo were pathetic compared to other regions, our selection of games in the Virtual Console catalog is pathetic compared to other regions. $250 plus two games is a nicely priced bundle but I doubt Nintendo has anything to do with that. Don't hold your breath for them to drop the price of the Wii U below $299 anytime soon. Get ready for another holiday season where Microsoft and Sony slaughter them. Nintendo doesn't seem to care about the American market and the American market doesn't seem to care about them anymore either. The best games no longer come from Japan, the 90s this is not.

Im still not very clear on what Nintendo's strategy is? They just keep releasing past-gen product which relies solely on gimmicks to keep it afloat.

I dont understand why they dont legitimately compete with Sony and Xbox in terms of system hardware?

Because there are a lot of stupid people who put Nintendo on an ethics pedestal.
